Birth & early life

Born at Sydiatte [PB: where's this?].

Enlistment

The Newbridge muster rolls show him as joining there on the 10th of May 1854.

Trade: Bricklayer.

No other enlistment details are shown.

Service

Joined the regiment in the Crimea on the 25th of May 1855.

In the Regimental Hospital during May and June 1855.

Transferred to the 7th Hussars at Hounslow on the 10th of October 1856. Regimental No. 123.

Embarked for India aboard the "Greenwich" on the 27th of August 1857.

Died, "whilst on detachment", at Cawnpore, India, on the 23rd of May 1858.

Medals & commemorations

Entitled to the Crimean medal with clasp for Sebastopol.

Mutiny medal with clasp for Lucknow.

Served in the field in Oude, East Indies, from the 4th of February 1858, including the Siege of Lucknow.

Death & burial

Died, "whilst on detachment", at Cawnpore, India, on the 23rd of May 1858.
