A "Private James Townsend 13th Light Dragoons" is recorded on the Crimean War memorial outside the Queen's Hotel in Cheltenham. This is almost certainly the same man. (There is another photograph in the 17th Lancer file.)
Died, "of disease", in the Regimental Hospital on the 14th of October 1854.
