This man is rather a mystery. No Regimental number appears to have been allocated to him and none is shown on the muster or medal rolls. There is no record of him ever being at the Depot or being sent to join the Service Troops at the particular period in question.

Enlistment

Enlisted at Birmingham on the 31st of January 1855.

Age: 22.

Height: 5' 6".

Trade: None shown.

Service

Joined the regiment in the Crimea on the 20th of June 1855.

Died at Balaclava on the 7th of September 1855.

Medals & commemorations

Entitled to the Crimean medal with clasp for Sebastopol.

Not recorded by Lummis and Wynn.
