Died on the 10th of April 1907 at 484, Seven Sisters Road, Stoke Newington, London, aged 75 years.
He was buried in Grave 47772, Section G6. in Abney Park Cemetery, and according to the Cemetery records a memorial stone was erected.
From the United Services Gazette for the 18th of April and the 15th of August 1907:
"The death took place on the 10th inst., of Mr Edward Venables, of Cumberland House, Seven Sisters Road, Finsbury Park, London, and of Smithfield, who served in the Eleventh Hussars in the Crimea and took part in the Balaclava Charge. He was in his seventy-sixth year."
"The will has just been proved of ex-Sergeant Major [sic] Edward Venables of Seven Sisters Road, Finsbury Park, London. Probate of his will has been granted to his wife, the value of the estate being £1,828."
The inscriptions on the erected family gravestone read as follows:
Around the top of the stone are the words "The family grave of Edward Venables of Seven Sisters Road, Finsbury."
"In loving memory of Jane, the beloved wife of the above, who departed this life, 22nd of March 1871, aged 32 years.
And Sarah Marie, second wife of the above, born 2nd September 1857 - Died 4th of March 1875.
Also Edward Venables, late Sergeant Major, Prince Albert's Own Hussars and One of the Six Hundred."
