Born in Derby.

Enlistment

Enlisted at Coventry on the 31st of October 1849.

Age: 18.

Height: 5' 6".

Trade: Labourer.

Service

Rejoined the regiment from Scutari on the 23rd of November 1854.

He was left with the rear party when the Regiment returned to England, being attached to the 8th Hussars, from 25th of April — 15th of May 1856, and returning with them to England.

Discharge & pension

Discharged "Invalided" from Dublin on the 13th of April 1857, as "Has Varicose veins — Unlikely to become an efficient soldier."

Served 7 years 164 days.

In Turkey and the Crimea: 2 years.

Conduct: "good".

In possession of one Good Conduct badge.

Aged 25 years 4 months on discharge.

Awarded a pension of 6d per day for two years "final."

Medals & commemorations

Entitled to the Crimean medal with clasp for Sebastopol, and the Turkish medal.
