Birth & early life

Enlistment

Enlisted at London into the 3rd Light Dragoons on the 13th of September 1852. No Regimental number was allocated, and no other enlistment details are shown.

Service

He transferred to the 17th Lancers from the Depot by "Authority of Head-quarters, dated the 17th of January 1853". A further bounty of £1/10/0 was paid to him.

He was at the Scutari General Hospital from the 22nd of September, but sent to rejoin the regiment in the Crimea on the 11th of October 1854.

He was sent back to Scutari on the 28th of December 1854, where he died, "in the General Hospital", on the 1st of February 1855.

Medals & commemorations

Entitled to the Crimean medal with clasps for Inkerman and Sebastopol.

The Returned Medal book shows "Crimean and Turkish medals returned to the Mint. No trace of issue."

Death & burial

Died "in the General Hospital" at Scutari on the 1st of February 1855.
