Born in Sheffield.

Enlistment

Enlisted at Sheffield on the 6th of January 1855.

Age: 19.

Height: 5' 5".

Trade: Cabinet-maker.

Service

Joined the regiment in the Crimea on the 24th of June 1855.

"Deserted" from Cahir on the 1st of December 1861.

Can find no further trace to 1879.

Lummis and Wynn refer to him as being a Trumpeter, but nothing can be found to substantiate this.

Medals & commemorations

Entitled to the Crimean medal with clasp for Sebastopol.
