Birth & early life

Born in Leeds.

Enlistment

Enlisted into the 7th Hussars at Leeds on the 28th of August 1854 with the Regimental No. of 1403.

Age. 18 .

Height: 5' 7".

Trade: Cloth Dresser.

Service

Transferred, at his own request, into the 8th Hussars on the 31st of December 1854. (See record of 1451 Edward Boocock.)

Joined the regiment in the Crimea on the 15th of June 1855.

Sent to Scutari on the 8th of August 1855. and invalided to England on the 24th of September 1855.

Death & burial

The muster roll shows only, "Died at Sea." No date is shown.

Chatham Invalid Depot muster rolls show him as having "Died at Sea", aboard the "The Alps" on the 29th of September 1855. He left no will, his credits being £2/4/9d.

Medals & commemorations

Entitled to the Crimean medal with clasp for Sebastopol.

Not recorded by Lummis and Wynn.
