Birth & early life

Born at Manchester, c.1836.

Enlistment

Enlisted at Manchester on the 18th of November 1854.

Age: 18.

Height: 5' 6".

Trade: Labourer.

Service

Joined the regiment in the Crimea on the 25th of May 1855.

Transferred to the 3rd Dragoon Guards on the 1st of February 1857. Regimental No. 303.

Died of "chronic hepatitis" at Ahmednugger, India, on the 16th of November 1863.

Medals

Entitled to the Crimean medal with clasp for Sebastopol.

Not recorded by Lummis and Wynn.

Life after service

Death & burial

The India Office records show him as dying of "chronic hepatitis" at Ahmeddnugger on the 16th of November 1863, aged 27 years. He was buried on the same day by the Revd. C.H. Leigh-Lynn.
