Born at Brighton, Sussex, c.1832.

Enlistment

Enlisted at Brighton on the 23rd of January 1855.

Age: 23.

Height: 5' 7".

Trade: Tailor.

Service

Joined the regiment in the Crimea after the 1st of June 1855.

From Private to Corporal: 26th of April 1855.

Discharge & pension

Discharged from Edinburgh "time expired", on the 24th of March 1867.

Conduct: "good".

In possession of two Good Conduct badges.

Medals

Entitled to the Crimean medal with clasp for Sebastopol.

A Jonathan Thomas Dowding was married to Fanny Maria Kent at St. Thomas's Church, Lewes, on the 9th of June 1878. Possibly one and the same man.
