Born at York, c.1834.

Enlistment

Enlisted at York by the 7th Hussars for the 8th at York on the 26th of December 1854, being a volunteer from the 2nd Battalion West Yorks Militia.

Age: 20.

Height: 5' 8".

Trade: Cloth-dresser.

Service

Embarked for the Crimea on the 24th of May 1855 and joined the regiment in the Crimea on the 29th of April 1855.

Discharge & pension

Discharged, on the "Reduction of the Regiment", from Dundalk on the 8th of November 1856.

Served 1 year 319 days.

Conduct: "good".

Not in possession of any Good Conduct badges.

Entitled to the Crimean medal with clasp for Sebastopol.
