Birth & early life

Born in Dublin, c.1829.

Enlistment

Enlisted at Dublin on the 5th of November 1849.

Age: 20.

Height: 5' 7". Trade, Labourer.

Service

Embarked for the Crimea aboard the H. T. "Medora" on the 27th of April 1854.

Tried by a District Court-martial on the 27th of October 1855 for "being drunk and asleep on his post." Found "Not guilty."

Embarked for India from Cork aboard the S. S. "Great Britain" on the 8th of October 1857.

Died at Nusserabad, India, on the 2nd of October 1860.

Medals

Entitled to the Crimean medal with clasps for Alma, Balaclava, Inkerman and Sebastopol.

Mutiny medal with clasp for Central India.

Served at Kotah and Gwalior.

Commemorations

Death & burial

Died at Nusserabad, India, on the 2nd of October 1860.

Next of kin, Father, Thomas Dunn, living 24, Fane Street, Chapelizod, near Dublin.

From the India Office records he was buried at Nusserabad on the 2nd of October by the Revd Father L. Cornelius, R. C. C. No cause of death was shown, as is usual.
