Enlisted at Dublin on the 18th of April 1854.

Age: 25.

Height: 5' 7".

Service

He was batman to Colonel Douglas, commanding the Regiment in the Crimea, and returned with him to England on the 13th of November 1855.

From Private to Corporal: 23rd of April 1859.

Transferred to the Cape Mounted Rifles on the 30th of June 1860 and joined them at the Cavalry Depot, Canterbury on the 16th of July 1860. Regimental No. 680.

From Corporal to Sergeant: 17th of July 1860.

Embarked for Graham's Town, South Africa, on the 25th of January 1861 and joined the regiment on the 27th of April 1861.

Discharge & pension

Discharged from William's Town, South Africa, on the 15th of November 1864. No other details are shown.

Medals

Entitled to the Crimean medal with clasps for Alma, Balaclava, Inkerman and Sebastopol, and the Turkish medal.
