Born at Farringdon [presumably Faringdon], Berkshire, c.1830.

Enlistment

Enlisted at Hounslow on the 7th of November 1848.

Age: 18.

Height: 5' 8".

Trade: Farmer.

Service

1851 Census

Pockthorpe Cavalry Barracks, Norwich.

John Myers, 20, Private, born Farringdon [Faringdon?], Berks.

From Private to Corporal: 5th of September 1851.

Tried by a Regimental Court-martial, reduced to Private and imprisoned from the 5-10 of March 1853.

Died, "in the Crimea", on the 27th of December 1854.

Next-of-kin: Father, Thomas Myers, living in Wallingford, Berkshire.

Entitled to the Crimean medal with clasps for Alma, Balaclava, Inkerman and Sebastopol.
