[PB: TM was with his regiment throughout the Crimean War, as shown by his Crimean Medal with all four clasps. It is possible he rode in the Charge, though nobody (so far as I know) has ever asserted that he did so. (The fact of having the clasp for having been present at Balaclava on the 25th October 1854 does not in itself imply he actually Charged.) I have not found a reference to him in any fellow-soldier's memoirs, nether was he ever a member of any of the commemorative gatherings (but of course this may imply only that he was already dead — I have not been able to discover the date of his death).]
[PB: Laurence Crider summarises his Crimean record.]

[PB: Terry Brighton, Hell Riders", p.351, records TM as on the Roll on 25 October 1854, and therefore entitled to the clasp for Balaclava. Roy Dutton does not list.]
