Birth & early life

Born at Cirencester c.1836.

Enlistment

Enlisted at Liverpool on the 5th of March 1855.

Age: 19.

Height: 5' 7".

Trade: Joiner.

Service

Joined the regiment in the Crimea from Cork on the 2nd of July 1855.

Transferred, according to the muster rolls, to the 3rd Dragoon Guards at Dublin on the 31st of December 1856.

No trace be found of him in the 3rd D.G. muster rolls. All other men of the 17th Lancers who transferred are shown, but not him.

Can find no further trace to 1879, nor on the 1881 Census returns.

Medals

Entitled to the Crimean medal with clasp for Sebastopol, and the Turkish medal.
