Enlisted at Cork on the 27th of November 1854.

Height: 5' 6".
Trade: Labourer.
Features: Fresh complexion. Blue eyes. Lt. brown hair.
Joined the regiment in the Crimea from Cork on the 18th of June 1855.
Is shown on the Brighton Depot Roll from the 29th of September 1855 and rejoining the regiment at Cahir on the 1st of June 1856.
[EJB: Lummis and Wynn state that he "Died on the 7th of September 1855", but this was probably the date on which he was invalided back to England.]
Discharged from Kilmainham on the 12th of January 1857 upon
"Reduction of the Army and not likely to become an efficient soldier in consequence of a fractured femur and weakly constitution. His thigh was broken in the Riding School at Brighton by his being thrown from his horse. He will not be incapable, after a little while, of earning his living."
Served 3 years 2 months.
Conduct: "good". Not in possession of any Good Conduct badges.
Seven times entered in the Regimental Defaulter's book. Never tried by Court-martial.
Entitled to the Crimean medal with clasp for Sebastopol, and the Turkish medal.
