Embarked for India aboard the "Blenheim" on the 27th of November 1857.
Invalided to England on the 13th of December 1860.
Sent to the Chatham Invalid Depot on the 20th of October 1861.
Served at Korsee and Lucknow.
Discharged from Chatham on the 12th of November 1861:
"Unfit for further service. This man is recommended for being discharged from the service in consequence of general debility. Caused by repeated attacks of fever in India and also lately a cough and rheumatism which is attributable to his military service and not aggravated, as far as I am aware, by vice or mis-conduct. Has a tendency to pulmonary consumption."

Awarded a pension of 6d. per day for 18 months. This was granted for "one year longer, conditional" up to the 3rd of October 1865 and was made 6d."permanent" on the 4th of September 1866.
