Born at Slough.

1841 Census

A "Johnson Sewell", aged 15, was living in Hitcham, Suffolk

Enlistment

Enlisted into the Grenadier Guards at London on the 29th of November 1850. Regimental No. 5992.

No other enlistment details apart from his trade as a groom are shown.

Service

Transferred to the 17th Lancers on the 27th of February 1852.

Killed in action at Balaclava.

Entitled to the Crimean medal with clasps for Alma, Balaclava and Sebastopol
