Born at Hawkesbury. [RM: Gloucestershire.]

Enlistment

Enlisted at London on the 1st of May 1854.

No other enlistment details apart from his trade as a clerk are shown.

Service

From Private to Cpl.1 of October 1854.

Joined the regiment in the Crimea on the 29th of April 1855.

Tried by a Regimental Court-martial for "absence" and reduced to Private on the 9th of November 1855

Discharge & pension

Discharged "by purchase," from Dublin on the 20th of September 1856,upon payment of £30.

Served 2 years 88 days.

Conduct: "good".

Not in possession of any Good Conduct badges.

Medals & commemorations

Entitled to the Crimean medal with clasp for Sebastopol, and the Turkish medal.
