Birth & early life

Born in the parish of St. John's, Chester.

Enlistment

Enlisted at Liverpool on the 17th of December 1854.

Age: 20.

Height: 5' 5". Trade: Labourer.

Features: Dark complexion, Hazel eyes. Dark brown hair.

Service

Joined the regiment in the Crimea from Cork on the 9th of February 1855.

Transferred to the 6th Bn. of the Military Train at Dublin on the 9th of February 1857. Regtimental No. 1318.

Deserted from Woolwich on the 22nd of November 1857.

Held by the 4th Bn. on the 29th of December 1857 and returned to the 6th Bn. on the 1st of January 1858

Discharge & pension

Discharged "time expired," from Aldershot on the 1st of May 1867, after 12 years reckonable service.

Conduct: "good and in possession of one Good Conduct badge.

Medals & commemorations

Entitled to the Crimean medal with clasp for Sebastopol, and the Turkish medal.
