At Scutari Depot from the 12th of November 1854 and rejoined the regiment on the 14th of December.
Sent to Scutari again on the 16th of January and died there on the 5th of February 1855.
Entitled to the Crimean medal with clasps for Alma, Balaclava and Sebastopol.
(The name is believed to be spelt "Stim" on his medal, but it is not known just where or when this appeared. His name is spelt in this way on some medal rolls.)
Died at Scutari on the 5th February 1855.
In a newspaper interview given by 1009 David Stanley in October 1875 he refers to Stine as follows:
"[O]ne of our chaps named Andrew Styne had seventeen lance wounds in him after he lost his horse. The Cossacks kept pricking at him with their lances as they rode past. He survived after all his wounds."
He is not shown in the Casualty Lists, but with this evidence can be considered as a participant. There is a copy of this interview in the 17th Lancer file.
