Born at Nottingham.

Enlistment

Enlisted at Liverpool on the 1st of January 1855.

Age: 19.

Height: 5' 7".

Trade: Clerk.

Appearance: Fresh complexion. Hazel eyes. Brown hair.

Service

Invalided from the Crimea on the 13th of November 1855,

Discharge & pension

Discharged from Chatham Invalid Depot on the 11th of November 1856 as "Unfit for further service. After 26 days treatment in hospital, from "Fistula in Ano."

Served 1 year 305 days.

In Turkey and the Crimea: 8 months.

Conduct and character "good". Not in possession of any Good Conduct badges.

Medals

Entitled to the Crimean medal with clasp for Sebastopol and the Turkish medal.

Granted a pension of 6d. per day for three months amd this was renewed for a further three months ending on the 31st of December 1858. He was then living in the Liverpool Pension District
