Born in the parish of St. Dunstan's, London.

Enlistment

Enlisted at London on the 15th of March 1855.

Age: 18.

Height: 5' 9".

Trade: Black-smith.

Dark complexion. Brown eyes. Dk. brown hair.

Service

Joined the regiment in the Crimea on the 1st of August 1855.

Transferred to the 2nd Bn. of the Military Train at Cahir on the 31st of October 1856. Regtl. No. 996.

Served with the force under H.E. the Commander-in-Chief at Lucknow and with that under Sir James Outram at Alum Bagh.

Died, "of cholera", at Ghazapore, India, on the 11th of February 1859.

Medals

Entitled to the Crimean medal with clasp for Sebastopol and the Turkish medal.

Mutiny medal with clasps for Lucknow and the Relief of Lucknow.

Not recorded by Lummis and Wynn.
