Birth & early life

Born in the parish of Southover, Lewes, Sussex.

Enlistment

Enlisted at Birmingham on the 9th of December 1854.

Age: 18.

Height: 5' 7".

Trade: Labourer.

Service

Joined the regiment in the Crimea on the 13th of August 1855.

Tried by a Regimental Court-martial (no date shown) for "disobeying an order given by a superior" and awarded 50 lashes, the whole of which were remitted.

Medals

Entitled to the Crimean medal with clasp for Sebastopol and the Turkish medal.

Not recorded by Lummis and Wynn

Life after service

Death & burial

Died at Hamilton, Scotland, on the 18th of June 1860.
