Discharged, "by purchase", from Dublin on the 24th of December 1856, upon a payment of £25.

Served 7 years 150 days.

Conduct: "good".

In possession of one Good Conduct badge.

Medals

Entitled to the Crimean medal with clasps for Alma, Sebastopol, and the Turkish medal.

His name appeared in the 1877 list of members of the Balaclava Commemoration Society, but not in the 1879 revised list.

1861 Census

23, Brook Street, St Mary's, Nottingham.

The 1861 Census records him as a "Baker", born Wilford, Nottinghamshire, with his wife Mary, aged 20, born at Snenton, Notts.

A son, William J., aged 3, and daughter, Elizabeth, 3 months, are also shown. [RM]
