Sent to the Cavalry Depot on the 19th of April 1854.

Joined the regiment in the Crimea on the 15th of June 1855.

From Private to Corporal: 2nd of March 1856.

Discharge & pension

Discharged on the "Reduction of the Regiment," from Dundalk on the 9th of April 1857.

Served 3 years 133 days.

Conduct and character: "good". Not in possession of any Good Conduct badges.

Medals

Entitled to the Crimean medal with clasp for Sebastopol.

Lummis and Wynn state that he "Did not embark for the Crimea", but his name is to be found on the Sebastopol clasp list.
