Birth & early life

Born c.1825.

Enlistment

Enlisted at Dublin on the 5th of June 1848.

Age: 23.

Height: 5' 8".

Trade: None shown.

Service

"Absent without leave," from Brighton from the 3rd of June 1850 until the 20th, when he was apprehended by the Civil Power and brought back.

"In confinement" until the 25th, when he was tried by a District Court-martial and sentenced to 70 days' imprisonment in the Provost Prison at Lewes.

Rejoined the regiment on the 11th of September 1850.

At this time he was described as being of a dark complexion, hazel eyes, and dark brown hair.

Service

Embarked for the Crimea aboard the H.T. "Echunga" on the 15th of May 1854,

Embarked for India from Cork aboard the S.S. "Great Britain" on the 8th of October 1857.

Death & burial

Died at Nusserabad, India, on the 18th of October 1859.

Medals

Entitled to the Crimean medal with clasps for Alma, Balaclava, Inkerman and Sebastopol.

Mutiny medal with clasp for Central India.

Served at Kotah and Gwalior.

The Returned Medal book shows: "Mutiny medal returned to the Mint. No trace of issue."
