On a nominal roll of the 9th of November 1855, is shown as being at the Cavalry Depot at Scutari from the 27th of August, "In 'Hospital". From this he did not serve in Eupatoria with the regiment.
Transferred to the 17th Lancers on the 1st of September 1857. Regtl no. 98.
Embarked for India from Cork aboard the S.S. "Great Britain" on the 8th of October 1857.
Served in action against the rebels at Zeerapore on the 29th of December 1858 and at Baroda on the 1st of January 1859.
From Private to Corporal, 6th of October 1865.
"In confinement", 23rd-25th June 1868, and reduced to Private by a Regimental Court-martial.
Discharged from Gort on the 4th of July 1868 as "Free, to a deferred pension of 4d. per day upon his reaching the age of 50 years".
Entitled to the Crimean medal with clasp for Sebastopol and the Turkish medal.
Mutiny medal without clasp.

To live in Reading after discharge.
